Everyone’s a geek about something.
Let healing emerge from exploring your passions
With geek therapy, we tune-in to fantasy, metaphor, role-play, storytelling, gaming and more to facilitate self-discovery and personal growth.
Geek Therapy

What is Geek Therapy?
A creative, strengths-based approach to mental health that uses a client’s passion for pop culture—such as video games, fandoms, Dungeons & Dragons, anime, or comics—as a tool for engagement, communication, and self-exploration. It bridges the safety and excitement of the familiar with processing emotions. Your special interest is my inspiration.
For neurodivergent individuals, geek therapy uses the safety of familiar interests as a bridge to novel experiences that are guided by curiosity.
In-session gameplay creates here-and-now experiences of a range of emotions. These become moments for tuning in to body sensations, building nervous system awareness, making meaning, and developing problem solving skills.
Geek therapy incorporates an individual’s interests to help make connections between favorite fandoms, characters, stories, and games with real life situations.
As we explore these interests, we co-create a healing journey and identify ways to merge interests with therapeutic goals.
