Is it bad enough for therapy?

If you’re questioning it, it’s a good time to reach out.

Individual therapy offers a neutral, supportive space to explore all aspects of yourself.
Relational one-to-one support

Individual Therapy

The main goal of individual therapy is to increase your understanding of your own thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors, and how they are all interrelated and impacting each other. How this is accomplished is guided by the theoretical approach of the therapist or clinician.

An integrative approach is not limited to structured protocols or predetermined goals. It includes whatever modalities make sense for the individual. Therapists may collaborate with individuals to identify the best paths for symptom reduction and restoration.

By starting with psychoeducation, learn how body sensations and voice can signal nervous system arousal states. This becomes a bridge to the mind-body connection and path to building interoceptive awareness (polyvagal theory, sensory integration).

Learn how to anchor to the life rhythms of natural cycles, finding flow through the nervous system states, and building intentional paths to restoration.

Integrated Approaches

Therapy Approaches
Adopts a strengths-based, non-pathologizing approach that views neurodivergent conditions—such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia—as natural variations of the human brain, not defects to be fixed. They focus on supporting an individual's authentic self, honoring neuro-distinct needs, and reducing masking, rather than forcing compliance with neurotypical social norms.
Identity affirming therapy validates, celebrates, and understands queer identities, directly combating stigma and minority stress to empower clients. In contrast, LGBTQ-informed (or friendly) therapists are respectful, safe, and non-discriminatory, but may lack specialized knowledge of the specific nuances, cultural contexts, or identity development challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals
Creative expression- art, music, movement, sound, storytelling, is used as path to self-discovery. It is used to explore emotions, find the expressive voice of parts, somatic release, and non-verbally process trauma. It can be integrated with other therapeutic approaches.
Integrates principles from Internal Family Systems (IFS) & other parts work theories into practice, viewing the mind as comprising various "parts" (subpersonalities) and a core "Self". It helps clients understand, compassionate relate to, and heal protective or wounded parts to foster internal harmony, rather than focusing on eliminating them.
Incorporates knowledge from neurobiology, neuroanatomy, and psychology into clinical practice.
Focuses on identifying which part of your nervous system (ventral/sympathetic/dorsal) is currently active and using bodily, sensory, or relational techniques to move you back to a state of safety.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), is a structured therapy designed to process and alleviate distress from traumatic memories, PTSD, anxiety, and depression
A body-centered approach to treat stress, anxiety, and trauma, believing that emotional pain is physically stored in the body. Unlike traditional talk therapy, they help clients release this "stuck" energy through mindfulness, breathing, movement, and physical sensations. Preferred Providers: clients often report feeling less judgement from psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician's assistants as opposed to MD psychiatrists Ideal Scenario: Collaborative communication across providers beyond simply exchanging records via fax or alternative correspondence.
A creative, strengths-based approach to mental health that uses a client's passion for pop culture—such as video games, fandoms, Dungeons & Dragons, anime, or comics—as a tool for engagement, communication, and self-exploration. It bridges the safety and excitement of the familiar with processing emotions.
